As international literary scouts, we look for the best in fiction and non-fiction to be published in English, as well as in other major languages, on behalf of our international publishing clients and a film & TV company.
Eccles Fisher Associates is looking for an organised, bright, resourceful humanities graduate with a sound editorial sense. We are a close team, working out of central London office and this is an exciting opportunity for someone to gain an oversight of multiple aspects of the publishing industry, with insights into agenting, editorial, and the UK market, as well as foreign markets.
The ideal candidate will – though not necessarily – already have some publishing work experience under their belt. They will be highly organised, have an almost obsessive attention to detail, be skilled at juggling multiple administrative tasks, have good communication and IT skills, and of course, be passionate about books. Ideally, they would have a demonstrable interest in commercial fiction and YA. A foreign language would also be an asset, but is not essential.
• Diary management and general assistance to the managing director
• Office administration
• Data entry on our specialised database
• Reading and reporting on books from a wide variety of genres
• Liaising with our publishing clients
• Some scouting responsibilities
The successful candidate would begin working with us full-time as soon as possible.
We welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented in the creative industries.
Please send a CV and covering letter to email@example.com stating your earliest date of availability.
Salary on application.
